Association of Young Artists of Montenegro

The Association of Young Artists of Montenegro (AYAM) was founded in 2017 to develop contemporary art and strengthen international cultural cooperation. One of its most important projects is the Festival of Young Artists, which brings together artists from different countries and connects contemporary art with popular culture. The association also founded the Montenegro Youth Orchestra, which contributes to the development of contemporary music and new forms of classical music. Through international partnerships and cross-border cooperation projects, AYAM helps develop the cultural scene of Montenegro and promote it in Europe.

Mission and aims

The Association of Young Artists of Montenegro (AYAM) brings together and organises young artists from every field of artistic work, so that young people take an active part in shaping the cultural life of Montenegro.

1. Supporting young talent and helping it gain recognition.
2. Promoting the arts and their importance for society.
3. Making performing and contemporary art present and accessible in Montenegro.
4. Active participation of young people in the cultural life of Montenegro.

The association focuses on alternative theatre, contemporary art music and “new art”.

Over the years AYAM has worked with the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, the University of Montenegro, Crnogorska komercijalna banka, Erste Bank, the Capital City of Podgorica, the Municipality of Ulcinj and other organisations, as well as with international organisations and programmes including Interreg IPA, the British Council and the Goethe-Institut.
